Introduction

The Shiva-Shakti Koti Japa Yagya is a free, yearlong Vedic Yagya sponsored by the non-profit Veda Vishwa Foundation. It provides a simple structure for invoking an on-going wave of blessings from Lord Shiva and Mother Divine and generating a very powerful, upsurge of bliss, purity, peace and balance for the participants, their environments, the world and universe.

This Yagya is performed by a "japa mandala" or group of people from all over the world, with each person reciting two simple mantras from the Vedic tradition, one mantra for Shiva and one mantra for Mother Divine. To participate, you can just spend 5-6 minutes a day - or just 5-6 minutes once a week. The collective recitation of these mantras will total at least one "koti" or 10 million repetitions each for the Shiva and Durga mantras.

By joining the Japa Mandala, the positive effects of invoking the Divine through japa are multiplied by the power of the collective consciousness of the group. This Yagya will continue until finished.

Anyone who wants to generate a wave of peace, happiness and success in his or her own life, and in the world and universe may take part in this Yagya by spending only 5-6 minutes a day. There is no cost to participate and it is not necessary to be a follower of any particular religion, sect, group, philosophy or set of beliefs in order to participate and enjoy the benefits.

This Yagya is a group yagya, not a solitary meditation. It is not intended to replace or modify any other practice you currently enjoy. To maintain the integrity of your other spiritual practices, you should follow whatever guidelines you may have for them. We do not recommend that you change your other practices or combine them with your Shiva-Shakti Koti Japa. If it is convenient, simply add your participation in this yagya to your schedule without sacrificing any other spiritual or religious activities.
