Overview The Veda Vishwa
Foundation brings the benefits of Vedic Yagyas and Vedic Culture to everyone.
It provides practical solutions to challenges experienced on the individual,
social, environmental, national, global and universal levels through the
performance of Vedic Yagyas. Its objectives are to alleviate suffering, and to
restore and maintain our connection with the Divine. The Veda Vishwa Foundation
provides opportunities to experience all aspects of traditional Vedic Yagyas,
including Yagya selection, scheduling and planning, site preparation,
preparation of ingredients and materials, rehearsal of traditional recitations
and participation in performance.

MAHA SHIVARATRI CELEBRATION FEBRUARY 12
On Friday, February 12, Pt. D.N. Sharma will perform four
traditional Vedic Yagyas to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva
beginning at 7:45 pm and lasting until dawn. The location is at
Morning Star Studio, 51 South Court St. in Fairfield, Iowa.
MahaShivaratri is considered to be the most powerful time of the
year to perform ceremony to Lord Shiva which include yagyas for
world peace, neutralization of negativity, and improvement of
health or recovery from disease. Everyone is invited to
participate in the ceremonies.
7:30 pm Arrive to be seated - you will want to bring a pillow
The evening celebration is divided into four sections:
1 - 7:45 pm Rudrabhishek - Puja and abhishek to Shiva lingam
2 - 10:45 pm Mrityunjaya Homa - Healing fire ceremony
3 - 1:45 am Shiva Sahasranama - 1000 Names of Lord Shiva
4 - 4:00 am Rudrabhishek - Puja and abhishek to Shiva lingam
There is no fee to attend the Yagya, however sponsorships and
contributions are greatly appreciated to offset our expenses. If
you are out of town, you may also be a sponsor, please call the
phone number below. Please bring fruit and flowers. You may stay
all night or as long as you like.
We need volunteers to set up Friday afternoon at Morning Star,
please come if you can. Volunteers are also needed throughout
the night and for clean up afterward, please call 641-472-9952.
