Happy Divali!

Dear Friends,

Pt. Sharma will be in Fairfield next weekend, Sunday November 2, to perform a Durga Puja and Chandi Homa. This is a very auspicious time as Deepavali is celebrated this Tuesday, Oct 28 and the national election is around the corner. This Durga yagya is very important as it will purify the environment and raise consciousness just prior to the US national elections. The Durga Puja will be held November 2 on Sunday morning at 9:45 am, with the Chandi Homa beginning at 3:00 pm Sunday afternoon. During the fire ceremony Pandit Sharma will recite the entire 700 verses of Durga Saptashati (also known as the Devi Mahatmyam or Chandi Path.)

The Durga yagya will take place one mile south of downtown: Take Rte. 1 south, then left on 227th St., second house on the right.

There is no fee for attending the Yagya, but sponsorships or contributions to cover Pandit Sharma's expenses are gratefully appreciated. For all events, participants are asked to wear fresh, clean clothes and to bring washed fruit and some flowers.
